Elections 2012 in DC provides participants a first-hand look at the key players, institutions, and strategies involving the U.S. presidential and congressional campaigns and elections. Participants gain a deep understanding of U.S. elections, and the skills, networks, and professional development opportunities to advance their careers.

Key program sessions, guest lectures and site visits cover a range of topics, including:

New rules governing how we  vote, campaign finance changes and strategies, parties, polling, campaign management, interest groups and PACs, rapid response, media coverage of campaigns and elections, media strategies, internet and new media, issue development, platforms and elections, elections and globalization, election outcomes and implications for international policy.

Elections 2012 in DC Program Package includes all course materials and instruction, optional sponsored activities and workshops, and DC Capitol Hill housing in fully furnished hotel suites at Capitol Hill Suites from May 20-25.  Participants also receive direct assistance in applying to and gaining a summer DC internship, or volunteer campaign work in their home states or districts.
